Blogging Training in Morris

November 12th, 2008 by Ann Treacy

Last night we had our first training session in Morris. I’m kicking myself this morning because I forgot to take a picture and we had a really good looking group!

We talked about how and why to blog. Here is my presentation – so other communities will get a sneak preview. One big highlight was learning how to add pictures. We talked about Flickr and Pincik as tools to help store and edit pictures for the blog. I promise to write more on them soon – when I’m not on the road, but in the meantime, here’s an intro I wrote on Flickr just a week ago for another group. I also have an old article on Picnik, which is a free, online photo editor.

I was really energized by the groups last night from Hoffman and Starbuck. As we talked they all had great ideas for blog posts and how they could get the community to visit the blog and use the blog to get the community engaged in Horizons. So many good ideas! We also talked about the community Blogging incentives – I feel like we might be shopping soon to hand out some of these rewards in this area. (Both groups went home and blogged after the session, which made my day!)
